A church, a movement and a gifted musical ministry, Planetshakers wrapped up their first U.S. conference in San Diego at The Rock Church on Saturday. In addition to those that filled the auditorium with praise in person at the church, another significant audience representing at least 52 countries on every contenant around the globe joined the Planethakers Limitless Conference via a special internet webcast. The free webcast/webinar was held live Friday night, Jan. 18, and seen worldwide on WorshipStream's platform with additional outlets like www.RevTV.com also webcasting the event.
After growing into one of Australia's most influential gatherings, the Planetshakers U.S. conference was held Jan. 17-19 and featured compelling messages from speakers Russell Evans, Sam Evans, Chris Hill, Ben Prescott, Miles McPherson, Sergio De La Mora and Obed Martinez, as well as worship music by Planetshakers Band.
"We are humbled by the response we received at the very first Planetshakers USA conference here in San Diego," says Russell Evans, founder/director and senior pastor of Planetshakers City Church. "People flew in from places like Florida and Hawaii to be part of this precious time where people were encouraged, empowered and given practical tools to return to their local church and serve with a renewed spirit, fresh energy and increase their influence and reach into their local community. America's best days are ahead. The American church's best days are ahead. The caliber and quality of people seeking God and pursuing Him with passion and strength is something we are excited about."
"The theme of our conference was 'Limitless,'" continues Russell. "We serve a limitless God and the people really connected to this message. I'm so excited to see what God does in all the churches represented. We are looking forward to returning this year with more conferences in the USA."
Prior to the conference, the Planetshakers movement that birthed Planetshakers City Church in 2004, the fastest growing church in Australian history, made its debut on FOX News Channel's "Huckabee" show, was featured on CNN affiliate KUSI TV (San Diego), JCTV's "Hot Off The Press," CCM Magazine, Christian Post, USA Radio Network and other national and local media. Following the conference, Planetshakers will soon be highlighted in upcoming coverage from TBN's "Real Videos," Risen Magazine, On Course Magazine and others. Pastor Russell is further slated to make special guest appearances on TBN's "Praise The Lord" (Feb. 21), "LIFE Today" with James and Betty Robison and GOD TV.
During the conference, Planetshakers Band led new songs from its 25th album, Limitless, which released amidst acclaim Jan. 15. Attendees were caught up in awe inspiring moments of worship as the band led "The Anthem" from Limitless, a song that www.theworshipcommunity.com encouraged worship leaders to add to their Easter setlists. They also responded in exuberant praise as the band led the title track, which is gathering airplay across the country, with WHRZ-FM (Spartanburg) being the most recent station to add the single. More than 186,000 have further seen the "Limitless" video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxWzfiKguFw, and more than 49,000 have seen "The Anthem" video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfgIfy7UXm4 (www.youtube.com/user/planetshakerstv).
"Planetshakers is a youth movement that has grown into somewhat of a phenomenon," says NewReleaseTuesday.com in their official review of Limitless. "…There's an undeniable infectious energy…Planetshakers succeeds in making an accessible and appealing-to-youth album full of catchy songs glorifying Christ our Savior."
